On July 28, the bosses at summit entertainment announced that look-alike actress Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of The da Vinci Code director Ron Howard, would take over Rachelle's role as evil vampire Victoria in Eclipse, the third installment of the hot franchise. ''I was stunned,'' Rachelle says of the news, wich broke a week before she was supposed to head to Vancouver, British Columbia, to start work on the film. ''I'm hurt deeply by Summit's surprising decision to move without me.'' The shocking recasting resulted from Rachelle's involvement in the independent movie Barney's version, wich has a 10-aday overlap with the Eclipse shoot. While the actress says Summit refused to accommodate her, the studio insists it wasn't even told of her new commitment until july 20. ''She's Definitely considering legal action,'' reveals a friend. ''Everythings Rachelle did was in accordance with her contract. She not only wants the money she's owed for Eclipse, she wants future earnings. This is a big blow to her career.''
